1918 Tea Dress 1918 Tea Dress Back
This historically inspired dress was based on a pattern for a 1918 tea dress by "May Manton's Bazar Glove-Fitting Patterns".  The pattern is accurate to the time period, the fabrics we used are not.  Our 1918 tea gown is made from a center front pleated panel in white Ming brocade, the body is an optic white shimmering crinkle fabric.  There is braid trimming the join between the skirt and the pleated panel, and ruffled organza ribbon and braid decorating the neckline and sleeve ends.  The shoulder drape is white crystal organza.  The empire waistline is decorated with a silver embroidered and beaded ribbon and two antiqued silver tone metal findings.  Side front closure is a series of hidden snaps and hook and eyes.  The skirt is lined in matching white satin acetate, the bodice and sleeves are lined with a soft white 100% cotton twill.
